Fault finding on modern cars becomes ever more complex. Almost all are run by a small central computer called an ECU (engine control unit), which controls everything from the windscreen wipers to the fuel flow through your engine.

The first sign of a problem is usually the engine management warning light appearing on your dashboard, but this doesn’t tell you what the fault is, but York Tyre & Vehicle Services can.
